Easter, Elevated: Sunny Side Up at Nova Maldives
A celebration woven with culture, creativity and the ocean’s rhythm

London, UK, 10 December 2025: Nova Maldives will mark Easter 2026 with Sunny Side Up, a three-day programme celebrating creativity, ocean life and slow island living. Taking place from 3–5 April 2026, a soul-nourishing journey inspired by the essence of Nova's Good Soul Days awaits.
Island Festivities & the KULA Creative Movement
Easter Sunday at Nova brings the island to life with two standout festivities designed for families. Little guests can join Nova’s signature Easter Egg Hunt, letting their curiosity take the lead searching for hidden treasures along the shoreline and house reef. Meanwhile, the Good Vibes Festival brings guests together for an afternoon of music, games, and beachside celebration.
At the heart of the programme is the KULA Art Initiative, uniting five Maldivian artists from diverse disciplines to host daily Easter Creative Expression Workshops in a dynamic, open studio format. Underpinned by the island resort’s programme that supports home grown artists, the sessions are designed for art-lovers and seasoned creatives looking for inspiration. Attendees can engage with local artists - from textile designers to painters and photographers, to learn techniques that are shaping the Maldives’ contemporary art scene.
A Cultural Deep Dive Through Food
Food becomes a storyteller throughout the Easter weekend, offering travellers a flavourful- introduction to Maldivian cuisine. At Soul Kitchen, gastronomy lovers can take part in plant-based Truly Maldivian cooking classes that spotlight fresh island ingredients and traditional cooking. Another highlight is the ceremonial Holhuashi gathering under the Banyan Tree’s life-giving presence. Here, travellers will get the chance to learn about Maldivian customs, the Dhivehi language, and sample delicious Maldivian street food, while listening to stories that have stood through time.
Easter weekend will also feature seasonal chocolate-making workshops and a refreshing high tea with coconut-infused pastries that lift midday energy dips. The festivities culminate in a satisfying Easter brunch, bringing everyone together to enjoy a feast of colourful, nourishing dishes that reflect the spirit of the season.
Wellness & Gentle Renewal
Starting each day with a refreshing practice promoting gentle renewal, guests are invited to join the daily Sunrise Yoga session at Eskape Spa, with grounding postures that attune the body to the rhythm of the ocean for a steady and intentional beginning into the day.
As the day unfolds, Nova welcomes wellness seekers to retreat into the spa to experience the signature antioxidant ‘Eskape Coconut Secret’ treatment. This restorative ritual layers a coconut scrub, with a warm coconut-oil massage and a revitalising head massage, to achieve full-body relaxation.
Coral & Ocean Get-Togethers
For those called to the ocean, Nova’s Aquaholics team will be curating a series of marine experiences that balance adventure and education. Couples and friends can choose between going on a Private Dolphin-watching tour to observe dolphin pods in their natural habitats on Good Friday, and the thrilling Jet Ski Escape to a Secluded Sandbank on Saturday, for a brief and intimate escape beyond the island.
On Easter Sunday, Nova’s resident marine biologist will lead an ocean discovery talk as part of Aqua Evenings —a relaxed, informative session that uncovers the wonders of the South Ari Atoll, a marine protected area, from its gentle whale sharks to its graceful manta rays.
Travellers who want to give back can join the Coral Nursery Initiative, helping to restore the island’s reefs. Guided by the marine team, participants will learn to attach coral fragments to frames that support healthy growth, where they can also name their coral as a unique memento.
