Nova Maldives Shines a Light on Sustainability for Earth Hour
Nova kicked off the celebrations with an educational Flora Workshop inviting guests to foster a deeper understanding of the eclectic life forms that call the island their home. On-site dining outlets on the intimate island undertook deliberate actions on the evening of 29th March, with Soul Kitchen, Nova’s all-day dining restaurant, dimmed its lights to embrace the warm glow of eco-friendly, battery-powered candles, encouraging diners to explore a menu featuring locally sourced ingredients and guilt-free nibbles by the flickering candlelight.
Flames restaurant also transitioned to outdoor dining, embracing the enchanting shores of Wink Beach, giving guests the surreal opportunity to dine out in the open air. Guests indulged in delectable grilled dishes as they basked in the soft glow of the lunar eclipse and the twinkling starlight, conserving electricity usage while enjoying a tastefully designed menu.
In the spirit of Earth Hour, Nova invited guests to experience a Soulful Rejuvenation "ritual” at Eskape Spa, enveloped in darkness to stimulate inner and outer renewal. Guests delighted in a detoxifying foot massage with Himalayan salt scrub and eucalyptus, a seaweed powder-infused body wrap, and a soothing head massage, concluding with a cup of warming ginger tea.
Guests witnessed the installation of a standout overwater signage of the Earth Hour 60+ logo, which was displayed at Nova’s lagoons to raise awareness for the global movement.
Earth Hour is a global movement established by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) with a singular powerful message: for one hour, people and organisations around the world turn off non-essential lights and electrical appliances to express their commitment to safeguarding the planet.
